How to Apply
The competition is organized into three stages.
STAGE I: Executive Summary
All Stage I applications must be emailed to wmy@wharton.upenn.edu by 5:00 PM
(EST) Friday October 27, 2006.
Apply by emailing the following:
• The Name of the venture
• A list of founders (at least one founder MUST be an African-American entrepreneur)
• The primary contact of the venture
• The full addresses of the venture and the primary contact
• The telephone number of the primary contact
• The e-mail address of the primary contact
Attach a completed Application form
NVC Application Form (.zip) | NVC Application Form (.doc)
Attach a 2-page Executive summary of the business plan.
The maximum length of the summary is two pages.
ALL APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT ADHERE TO THIS LIMIT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

SUBJECT: New Venture Competition Stage I
STAGE II: Business Plan
The applications for Stage II will be announced and contacted on Friday, November 3rd, 2006.
Applicants who make it to Stage II must submit a complete business plan by Friday, November 10, 2006.

for additional information.
STAGE III: Presentation
The top 3 applications for Stage III will be announced on November 17, 2006, and will be invited to
present at the 33rd Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Memorial Conference on Saturday, December 2, 2006.
NOTE: only NEW businesses are eligible. Developed businesses are NOT eligible
for this competition. GOOD LUCK!
